Made from metal moulds cut
to a section that is excellent for the intended application. The skins
are bonded in our usual fashion to a corrugated core that guarantees the
section shape and maximises the stiffness. All carbon laminate. Choose
the chord length from a maximum of 280 mm at the top to a minimum of 75
at the tip. The leading edge tapers at 16 degrees to the trailing edge.
Price will depend on the size of fin required.
The mould is long enough to make a fin 700 long with a chord of 280 mm at the top and 75 mm at the bottom. Fins moulded in the central section will suit light displacement boats in the A Class. Heavier boats can use a fin moulded in the upper part. 1/12 th ACC yachts would use a fin moulded in the lower section. There may be other applications too.
This moulding has a flange at the leading and trailing edge which needs shaping before use. We choose a lay up to give an optimum trade off between weight and stiffness and a fin that is far stiffer than any alternative for its weight. |
